NASCAR ADVANCE AUTO PARTS WEEKLY SERIES MODIFIED & SPORTSMAN DOUBLE HEADER THIS SATURDAY AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY INCLUDES KID’S MONEY SCRAMBLE

PENNSYLVANIA 410 SPRINT CAR SPEEDWEEK UP NEXT THIS TUESDAY JUNE 27 WITH $10,000 TO WIN HODNETT CUP

BRETT KRESSLEY AND LOGAN WATT CONTINUE TO LEAD POINTS IN CHASE FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP


BECHTELSVILLE, PA. – There will be plenty of action for everyone this week at Grandview Speedway.

The week begins on Tuesday, June 27 with a visit by the powerful 410 Sprint Cars of the Pennsylvania Posse in the 33rd running of Pa Sprint Car Speedweek. The Speedweek event at Grandview is titled the Hodnett Cup and salutes the late driver who is one of the all-time winningest 410 Sprint drivers in Grandview history and will be sponsored by HVAC Distributors Partners for Success. Tuesday night’s show will also include the 358 Modifieds, for another outstanding two-division race program.

The 410 Sprints will be chasing a $10,000 winner’s prize for the 35-lap feature race along with the Hodnett Cup, a former Greg Hodnett trophy that carries the name of each season’s winner and is present for each season’s race event.

The 358 Modifieds will be racing for a $3000 top prize for their 30-lap main event, which also carries a Pioneer Pole Buildings bonus of $2000 if the driver is a first time Thunder on the Hill winner, making for a possible $5000 top prize.

Adult grandstand admission is $30, children ages 6-11 are $10, while kids ages 5 and under are admitted free of charge. Pit admission is $40, and a license is not required.

On Tuesday, pit gates open at 2:30 pm. with advance ticket holders entering the grandstand at 4:30 pm. General admission grandstand gates open at 5 pm. with racing at 7:30 pm.

This Saturday night will be another NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series double-header featuring the T.P. Trailer Modifieds and T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman. The race program will consist of qualifying races for both divisions leading into the 30-lap T.P. Trailer Modified feature and 25-lap T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman main event.

Saturday’s program will also be a special night for the younger fans, as there will be a kid’s money scramble. The kids will be divided into three age groups and sent scrambling to pick up as many scattered coins as they can in a certain amount of time! Kids are reminded to arrive early on Saturday as the first 100 youngsters through the gates will receive a gift bag!

On Saturday, July 1 pit gates will open at 4 pm. with grandstand gates opening at 5:30 pm. warm-ups starting at 6:15 pm. and racing starting at 7:30 pm.

Adult grandstand admission is $20, students 10-15 with ID are $10, while children ages 9 and under are admitted free of charge. Pit admission is $35 for NASCAR members and $45 for non-members.

There will be a pre-race Meet and Greet with the guys from Low Down and Dirty on Saturday. The featured drivers will be on hand with their cars in the main gate area starting at 5 pm. This is a great time for fans to meet the drivers up close, collect some autographs, take photos, and talk racing with their favorite drivers.

This past Saturday, June 24 the race program was lost to the weather. With the postponement, the 90’s night promotion has been rescheduled to Saturday, July 22 and we’ve added something to 90’s night. The Thunder on the Hill Racing Series PA Speedweek race is saluting Greg Hodnett who was a six-time Thunder Series Champion (2003, 2009, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015), a nine-time feature winner (tied for the most 410 Sprint wins with Fred Rahmer, Lance Dewease and Billy Pauch), and set the record for most consecutive wins at four in a row (now tied by Brady Bacon).

Greg Hodnett’s first Thunder win was July 20, 1999, and final win was July 26, 2016. Hodnett was able to win Grandview’s Speedweek race in 2012, 2014 and 2016.

Previous winners of the Hodnett Cup have been Aaron Reutzell (2019), Danny Dietrich (2020), Kyle Larson (2021), and last season Rico Abreu.

The T.P. Trailer Modifieds will look to get back to action this Saturday after last week’s rain out. Competition has been good this season, with eight different drivers reaching victory lane.

Brett Kressley leads the points parade and has two wins, followed by last year’s champion Craig Von Dohren in second. Jeff Strunk sits third in points with one Thunder Series win, Tim Buckwalter is fourth in points looking for his first score of the year, and Doug Manmiller currently holds down fifth place in points with two feature victories.

The current top ten in points for the T.P. Trailer NASCAR Modifieds are 1. Brett Kressley – 2243, 2. Craig Von Dohren – 2179, 3. Jeff Strunk – 1990, 4. Tim Buckwalter – 1834, 5. Doug Manmiller – 1690, 6. Ryan Watt – 1681, 7. Jared Umbenhauer – 1651, 8. Eddie Strada – 1590, 9. Mike Lisowski – 1468, 10, Bobby Trapper Jr. – 1462.

The T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman have also seen eight different winners this season. Logan Watt with one win continues to lead the points chase, followed by Brian Hirthler who also has a win, Kyle Smith sits third in points with one win as well. Cody Manmiller is fourth in points still looking for his first win of the year, and one time winner Logan Bauman sits fifth in points.

The current top ten in T.P. Truck Equipment NASCAR Sportsman points are 1. Logan Watt – 2142, 2. Brian Hirthler – 1971, 3. Kyle Smith – 1894, 4. Cody Manmiller – 1700, 5. Logan Bauman – 1605, 6. Brett Gilmore – 1586, 7. Jesse Hirthler – 1535, 8. Addison Meitzler – 1489, 9. Adrianna Delliponti – 1444, 10. Ryan Graver – 1371.

Saturday July 8 will be another two-division program of T.P. Trailer Modifieds and T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman, with the Sportsman running in the Firecracker 40 Championship race.
