BECHTELSVILLE, PA September 18, 2020 . . . Stewart Friesen had a tough night at Bristol Motor Speedway on Thursday. He finished 32nd in the NASCAR Truck Series race due to a variety of mechanical issues. He will be looking to change his luck on Saturday night when he goes up against many of the best in dirt track Modified racing taking part in the 50th Annual Freedom 76. The Classic rewards the winner with $35,550 plus lap money. Friesen, a big winner in Modifieds this season, will be looking to take home that pot of gold. He will need a big change in luck from Thursday night.

However Matt Sheppard, another big winner in dirt track Modifieds, will be looking to take home the top prize himself. And then there is Billy Decker, Mike Maresca, Billy Pauch Jr., 11-time Grandview champion Craig Von Dohren, Duane Howard, Jeff Strunk, Kevin Hirthler, Ray Swinehart, Ryan Watt, Doug Manmiller, Brett Kressley and a long list of other top talents.

Before winning the pot of gold they have to make it to the starting field for the Freedom 76 and that will not be easy with dozens of racers on hand with the same goal.

The night of racing kicks off at 7 p.m. with qualifying races and the top finishers move on to the big race. For those not so fortunate to make the big race in heats there are consolation races and the Schaffer Motorsports Minuteman 20. With all that complete the field will be set. However the top performers, heat winners, will be invited to take part in the Kirsten Snyder Web Design & Photography Cash Dash with a chance to win $1,000. And there is the Bobby Gunther Walsh and his Sponsors Hard Charger $500 Award for the racer improving the most positions in the main event. Also, not to be forgotten, is the lap money that gives the leader of just about every lap at least $20 or more.

Fans will be able to reserve seats in the grandstands between 9 a.m. and noon on Saturday morning. Spectator gates and ticket windows open at 3 p.m. Adult admission is $40. Youngsters 6 thru 11 pay $10 and those under 6 are admitted free. Pit admission is $45. Rain date is Saturday, September 26th.

Freedom Fest will take place from 10 AM to 12 NOON on Saturday in the first turn pavilion area and will feature music by Maddie Pearl. Race cars driven by Ryan Grim, Colt Harris and Dylan Swinehart will be on display.
