VONDOHREN, B.HIRTHLER AND SCHUTZ LEAD NASCAR POINT STANDINGS AFTER FIVE RACE NIGHTS

SPORTSMAN STOCKS IN LIMELIGHT FOR SATURDAY NIGHT AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY

ENDURO AND VINTAGE RACERS IN ACTION ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON

BECHTELVSILLE, PA May 29, 2017 . . . Defending NASCAR TP Trailers 358 Modified champion Craig VonDohren leads the pack in the latest Modified point standings released for the Grandview Speedway three divisions of competition. VonDohren, the all time leading Modified feature winner at the Bechtelsville clay oval, has 1420 points while ten time Modified champion Jeff Strunk sits second just 37 points behind. Interesting to note is the fact that neither driver has won a feature so far this season.

                In the Sportsman division Brian Hirthler, a winner on opening night, is the point leader while defending champion Chuck Schutz sets the pace in points with the BRC Late Models. Schutz has not visited victory lane but has used consistent strong finishes to hold the lead.

       The point chase continues this weekend.

 The edge of your seat action provided by the NASCAR Sportsman stock cars will be in the limelight on Saturday, June 3rd at Grandview Speedway. The Sportsman racers will be battling in a 40-lap feature race that offers $1500 to win along with bonus bucks from TP Trailers and Truck Equipment and VP Racing Fuels.

           In addition to the Sportsman the primary division of racing competition on the one-third-mile, banked clay oval, the TP Trailers 358 Modifieds, will be in action along with the crowd pleasing BRC Late Models.

    In addition to the 40-lapper for the Sportsman there will be a 30-lap main event for the Modifieds and a 25-lap feature for the Late Models plus a full series of qualifying events.

                The Saturday night show will have a $20 adult ticket price while youngsters 6 thru 11 paying just $5 and kids under 6 will be admitted free. Pit admission is $30 with a NASCAR license. Spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m. while pits open at 3 p.m. Racers are asked to have their cars in the pit area by 6 p.m. at the latest. Racing gets the green at 7:30 p.m.

      The weekly Low Down and Dirty Meet & Greet will feature Sportsman racers Ryan and Kyle Lilick along with BRC Late Model racers Wayne Pfeil and Kyle Merkel. The Meet & Greet takes place at 5:30 p.m. as the main gate is opened for spectators.

      Then on Sunday afternoon 1 p.m. the entertaining Outlaw Enduros along with the Blast from the Past Vintage cars will be in action. The racing action will include Big Car Enduros (twin 60s), Small Car Enduros (twin 60s), Junkyard Car Enduro (50-laps), Ladies Race plus Blast from the Past Vintage Cars (two classes- two features).

      Saturday night racers are reminded to have their cars signed into the pit area by 6 p.m.
