VETERAN RACER DOUG MANMILLER WINS WNPV-1440AM RADIO MODIFIED FEATURE, STEVE TODOROW DRIVES TO VICTORY IN BRC LATE MODEL FEATURE AND BRIAN PAPIEZ IS TOPS IN SPORTSMAN FEATURE
VonDohren, Schutz and Henn win NASCAR Championships
Popular veteran racer Doug Manmiller drove to his first win of the season in the 30-lap T.P.Trailers NASCAR 358 Modified feature race. Young Steve Todorow added his name to the long list of Grandview Speedway feature winners on Saturday night winning the 25-lap WNPV-1440AM Radio sponsored BRC Late Model feature race. Garden State racer Brian Papiez, a newcomer to Grandview this season, won the 25-lap Sportsman feature for his fourth win of the season. Todorow and Manmiller’s wins brought the total feature wins total to 26 different drivers. Chuck Schutz earned his eighth BRC Late Model championship. Craig VonDohren finished on top in the Modified standings for the 9th time, his first title going back to 1988. In the Sportsman point chase, the closest of the three divisions, Jordan Henn won the title by a very narrow margin.
Ryan Grim had a strong performance finishing a close second in the Modified feature followed by Frank Cozze, John Willman and Jeff Strunk.
Multi-feature winner Brian Shuey came home second in the Late Model main event followed by Bill Henning, champion Chuck Schutz and Ron Kline.
In the final event of the night Mike Lisowski finished a close second in the 25-lapper for Sportsman followed by Paul Kline, Jordan Henn and Ryan Lilick.
Coming up on Friday, September 9th, 7 p.m. the TSRS 305 Sprints along with the Sportsman stock cars in a doubleheader show topped by a 38-lap feature for the Sportsman. Modifieds will also be allowed practice time.
And on Saturday, September 10th, 7 p.m. the biggest event of the season takes place with the running of the $25,000 to win 46th Annual Freedom 76 Modified Classic featuring many of the top names in dirt track Modified stock car racing.
