VONDOHREN, HENN AND SCHUTZ LEAD GRANDVIEW POINT STANDINGS INTO FINAL POINT EVENT

BECHTELSVILLE, PA August 28, 2016 . . . With the final point race of the season at Grandview Speedway set for Saturday, September 3 Craig VonDohren has a 146 point edge over Mike Gular in the chase for the 2016 T.P.Trailers NASCAR 358 Modified championship. Jordan Henn leads the point battle in the Sportsman division by just 39 points over Mike Lisowski and Chuck Schutz is on top in the BRC Late Model point battle by 236 points over Wayne Pfeil.

        Defending champion VonDohren, a winner of five features, is shooting for his ninth title at the Bechtelsville racing facility. The Oley, PA racer has 4291 points compared to Mike Gular’s outstanding effort who has tallied 4145 points despite no feature wins. Ten time titleholder Jeff Strunk sits third with 4020 points and two feature wins. More than 50 racers have competed in the Modified events run this season so far.

           In the Sportsman division Henn has led the standings for much of the season and has 2849 tallies as he heads into the final point event of the season. Henn has been to victory lane once this year. Lisowski has two wins which has helped him reach 2810 points and second spot in the standings. Third through fifth, still in the running for the title, are Craig Whitmoyer 2786 counters and one win, Brian Hirthler has earned 2754 points without a win and Ryan Lilick, the Saturday night winner, has two victories and 2715 points. Close to 60 racers have run in the Sportsman division this season.

                And in the BRC Late Models defending champion Chuck Schutz is seeking his eighth title and sits with 3457 points and three wins. Wayne Pfeil is second in the standings with 3221 points and has earned one feature victory. Close to 30 competitors have competed in the Late Model division.

       The 2016 season has proven to be one of the most competitive with 24 different feature winners spread over the three divisions of NASCAR sanctioned stock car racing.

                The point battle for the season comes to a close on Saturday (September 3) when WNPV 1440AM Radio Night is presented and will feature the T.P.Trailers 358 Modifieds, Sportsman and BRC Late Models. Racing will start at 7:30 p.m.
