MA NATURE STRIKES AGAIN, RAIN WASHES OUT SATURDAY NIGHT RACING AT GRANDVIEW

               FIREWORKS CANCELED, FIRECRACKER 40 RESKED FOR SATURDAY

               THURSDAY NIGHT FEATURES TRAFFIC JAM BIG BLOCK MODIFIEDS

BECHTELSVILLE, PA July 9, 2016 . . . NASCAR stock car racing including the Chapman Auto sponsored Firecracker 40 Late Model Classic was rained out on Saturday night at Grandview Speedway.

               As a result of the rainout the planned Fireworks show has been canceled. The Chapman Auto Firecracker 40, featuring a talented array of BRC Late Model racers, has been rescheduled for Saturday, July 16th. The tripleheader show will also include the NASCAR TP Trailers 358 Modifieds and Sportsman stock cars. The adult admission price, with the Fireworks eliminated from the event, has been reduced to $20.

               Spectator gates open at 5:30 pm with racing getting the green at 7:30 pm.

Big-Block Modified drivers of the Super DIRTCar Series race into Grandview Speedway on Thursday, July 14 as part of the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill 19th Annual Traffic Jam presented by Pioneer Pole Buildings. 

The 60-lap Big-Block Modified portion of the event offers a lucrative $7,000 payday to the winner, plus $1,000 for tenth and a whopping $500 to take the green flag in the main event.  A standard Super DIRTCar Series format of timed dashes, qualifying heat races, and a consolation are on tap prior to the drop of the green flag for the 19th Annual Traffic Jam.

Also on the card: the popular Sportsman division, in a 20-lap $1,000-to-win event expected to bring competitors from all over the region, itching for Grandview glory.

Racing starts at 7:30 p.m. Adult admission is $25 with kids 6-11 paying $10 and under 6 are admitted free. Pit admission, no license required, is $35.

Grandview Speedway, a one-third-mile, banked clay track, is located on Passmore Road just off Route 100 in Bechtelsville, PA, 10 miles north of Pottstown. A full assortment of great concessions and novelty items are available. Free parking on the grounds. Fans are invited to the competition area after the events are completed to meet the racers.
