SPORTSMAN IN THE SPOTLIGHT, WILL THERE BE AN EIGHTH NEW WINNER ON SATURDAY AT GRANDVIEW? NASCAR MODIFIEDS AND LATE MODELS MAKE UP TRIPLEHEADER

BECHTELSVILLE, PA June 15, 2016 . . . NASCAR Sportsman stock cars will be in the spotlight this Saturday night as they are featured in a 40-lap main event as part of a tripleheader show being sponsored by BFP Specialties and Bashore Trucking.

The big question for the Sportsman racers and fans will be if there will be another new winner. In seven weeks of racing at Grandview Speedway so far this season there have been seven different Sportsman feature winners. In fact, in all three divisions there have been 16 different feature winners with several of them being first time career winners. It all goes to show that stock car racing at Grandview is very competitive this season, perhaps the best in years.

Jordan Henn, current point leader, will lead a large field of entries as they try to qualify for the extra distance event.

Current T.P. Trailers NASCAR 358 point leader Craig VonDohren will be looking to add another win to his impressive resume but he has his work cut out for him as Mike Gular, Jeff Strunk, Doug Manmiller, Kyle Borror, Brett Kressley, Tim Buckwalter, Ray Swinehart and a host of others are looking to grab the feature win and become the sixth different winner of the season.

And in the BRC Late Models Dave Ogin, the current point leader, is looking to increase his point lead as he chases his first NASCAR and track championship.

At least 12 events make up the night of racing with the 40-lapper topping the Sportsman action while the Modifieds are featured in a 30-lapper and the Late Models go racing in a 25-lap main event. Racing gets the green flag at 7:30 p.m.

At 5 p.m. BRC Late Model talent Joe “Geezer” Fanelli and Sportsman ace Jim Housworth will be featured in the Low Down and Dirty Radio Meet & Greet that takes place near the main entrance. Ticket windows open at 5:30 p.m. with adult admission tickets set at $20, youngsters 6 through 11 paying $5 and kids under 6 admitted free. Members of the military are admitted free with proper ID.

Coming on Saturday, June 25th is Bechtelsville Car Wash Night featuring a tripleheader show that includes the T.P. Trailers Modifieds, Sportsman and TSRS 305 Sprint racers. Adult admission is $18 for this special event.

Grandview Speedway, a one-third-mile, banked clay track, is located on Passmore Road just off Route 100 in Bechtelsville, PA, 10 miles north of Pottstown. A full assortment of great concessions and novelty items are available. Free parking on the grounds. Fans are invited to the competition area after the events are completed to meet the racers.
