WEATHER ISSUES CANCEL NASCAR STOCK CAR RACING AT GRANDVIEW ON SATURDAY NIGHT

FANS AGAIN GET A CHANCE TO WIN POCONO RACEWAY NASCAR TICKETS

BECHTELSVILLE, PA May 14, 2016 . . . “We really thought we were going to be able to get this one in,” said track official Tina Rogers. “However Ma Nature showed for the second Saturday in a row that she is not an auto racing fan and sent us weather issues that put us out of business.

               The scheduled Whelen Engineering Night will be rescheduled for a later date.

               A big four division show of stock car racing will be the attraction on Saturday, May 21st featuring the T.P.Trailers NASCAR 358 Modifieds, BRC Late Models and Sportsman. And added to the night of excitement will be the popular Blast from the Past Vintage cars giving fans an opportunity to get the feel of stock car racing from yesteryear and see what cars of the past looked like.

               Gates for fans open at 5:30 p.m. and racing starts at 7:30 p.m. As gates open the Low Down and Dirty Meet and Greet will feature drivers signing autographs and showing off their race cars.

               There is no increase in the admission price for this four division show.

               And because of the rainout fans will still have an opportunity to win tickets for the June 4-5 NASCAR weekend racing events at Pocono Raceway courtesy of the track and WNPV-1440 AM Radio, the NASCAR radio station in Lansdale, PA. More than $1,000 worth of tickets will be given away.

               The racing events will also be a part of the RCN/TV schedule at Grandview with the events being shown over two nights (Thursday and Friday) of the following week.

               Coming up on Saturday, May 28th is another tripleheader card of racing action with the Modifieds, Late Models and Sportsman stock cars. Then on Sunday, May 29th the first of a series of Thunder on the Hill Series events will be presented with this one featuring the Modifieds, Sportsman and TSRS Sprinters. Both nights have 7:30 p.m. starting times.

Grandview Speedway, a one-third-mile, banked clay track, is located on Passmore Road just off Route 100 in Bechtelsville, PA, 10 miles north of Pottstown. A full assortment of great concessions and novelty items are available. Free parking on the grounds. Fans are invited to the competition area after the events are completed to meet the racers.
