QUICKEE NEWS FOR GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY SATURDAY EVENTS

The chase for the lucrative Grandview Speedway NASCAR championships continues on Saturday, August 8, with a doubleheader program of action packed stock car racing featuring the T.P.Trailers Modifieds and T. P.Truck Equipment Sportsman. A full series of qualifying events leading up to a 30-lap main event for Modifieds and 25-lapper for Sportsman gets started at 7:30 p.m.

Modified point leader Craig Von Dohren, a 10 time champion, will be looking to hold off dozens of challengers and Brian Hirthler, the point leader, will be looking to do the same with the Sportsman. With less than half the season to be completed each night of racing becomes more important.

Adult admission is just $15 while youngsters under 12 are admitted free.

The weekly Meet & Greet, now titled as “Da Rev’s Meet and Greet” will get started at 5 p.m. in the main gate area. Featured will be Sportsman racers Jimmy and Jesse Leiby with the #9 Sportsman. The Meet & Greet is now hosted by track chaplain, Pastor Don Kerns.

And on Saturday during opening ceremonies there will be a prayer for all the staff, officials, track workers, emergency responders, track crew and volunteers that allow racing to continue under the unique circumstances.

Lap sponsorships, $20 each, for the 50th annual Freedom 76 will be available by contacting Tommy Kramer or Tina Rogers at the track.

Coming up on Saturday, August 15th, is a tripleheader show featuring Modifieds, Sportsman and Outlaw Vintage racers.
