BECHTELSVILLE, PA APRIL 6, 2019 . . . The 57th consecutive season of racing got underway on Saturday night at Grandview Speedway with a large crowd on hand to see New York dirt track Modified standout Matt Sheppard win the 2nd Annual VP Racing Fuels Bruce Rogers Money Maker 50-Lap Modified Memorial race. For his winning efforts Sheppard walked off with $7,500
Second spot was earned by ten time Grandview champion Jeff Strunk followed by Rick Laubach, Jared Umbenhauer and Kevin Hirthler. More than 50 Modifieds were on hand with 24 cars making the main event and each of the feature qualifiers earning at least $1,000.
The Sportsman feature was won by Kevin Hirthler earning him $800 for his efforts in a close battle with second place finisher Craig Whitmoyer. Veteran Brad Brightbill came home third followed by Brian Hirthler, the younger brother of the winner, and Mark Kemmerer.
Next Saturday, April 13th, the first of the weekly series of NASCAR/Track chase for the championship events will be presented with the TP Trailers Modifieds and TP Truck Equipment Sportsman taking part. This will be the regular Saturday night attraction throughout the season. There will be added attractions from time to time during the season on Saturday nights. Adult admission for the regular Saturday night events will be $15 while youngster under 12 being admitted for FREE. Racing gets the green at 7 p.m.
