TIGHT POINT RACES ARE THE STORY AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY AS NASCAR STOCK CAR RACING SEASON GOES INTO CLOSING WEEKS
BECHTELSVILLE, PA July 24, 2016 . . . The battle for the lucrative track and NASCAR point championships with their lucrative monetary rewards is headed into the closing weeks in all three divisions of Saturday night stock car racing at Grandview Speedway.
Craig VonDohren, the defending titleholder, has moved back in front of the TP Trailers NASCAR 358 Modified standings with 3099 points. Second is now held by Mike Gular, winless so far this season, with 3012 counters. And in third is Jeff Strunk who took quite a hit in his effort to win an 11th title having been disqualified Saturday night as a result of an illegal carburetor (a mistake the car owner addressed). Strunk has 2903 points.
In the Sportsman division Jordan Henn continues to lead the standings with 2187 points just 8 points ahead of Saturday night winner Mike Lisowski’s 2179.
And in the BRC Late Models defending champion Chuck Schutz is in front with 2564 while Dave Ogin, without benefit of a feature win, is second at 2517.
NASCAR stock car racing returns to Grandview Speedway on Saturday, July 30, with a four division show that will include the TP Trailers NASCAR 358 Modifieds, BRC Late Models and Sportsman plus the added attraction of Blast From the Past Vintage stock car racing. The night will be sponsored by the local NASCAR station WNPV-1440AM in Lansdale. They will be giving away $1100 worth of prime seat tickets for the Pocono IndyCar race coming up in August. In addition Henning’s Trains of Lansdale will be giving away three sets of Lionel trains to lucky youngsters in the stands. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. with racing starting at 7:30 p.m.
The weekly Low Down and Dirty Driver Meet & Greet will take place near the main gate at 5 p.m.
With the biggest event of the season fast approaching, the 46th annual Freedom 76, opportunities are now being offered for lap sponsorship, qualifying event sponsorship and special award sponsorships.
