BECHTELSVILLE, PA† Consistency has its rewards for stock car racers at Grandview Speedway on Saturday nights.
Going into this Saturday nightís tripleheader racing show, sponsored by Whelen Engineering, the top four in the NASCAR 358 Modified point standings are separated by less than 100 points. Duane Howard tops the standings with 1503 and two wins. Craig VonDohren is second with 1444 points and two wins. Newcomer (to Grandview) Frank Cozze has no wins and he is third with 1415 points and nine time track champion Jeff Strunk, without a win at his hometown track, has 1407 points.
In the NASCAR Late Models Mike Kellner has a couple of wins and 1364 points while six time Late Model kingpin Chuck Schutz has one win and 1343 points. Just a 29 point difference.
And in the Sportsman division, Craig Whitmoyer, who races with the handicap of having just one arm, has no wins but leads the standings with 1351 counters. Brad Brightbill has tallied 1345 points without benefit of a win and defending Sportsman champion Jared Umbenhauer is in the battle for the title with 1273 counters and two wins.
